Thanks to your generous contributions during last year's Gift Fair, we raised nearly $500 at this annual event designed to provide an opportunity for community members to shop for holiday or seasonal gifts which are intangible: gifts of a donation made to a non-profit local, national or international organization. This year PiPE's table will be staffed by our both members of our Board and staff. We look forward to the opprotunity to meet donors and provide more information about Partners in Prevention Education, our services and how your donations support local youth and young adults affected by sexual assault, domestic violence and/or child abuse.

Thurston County Domestic Violence / Sexual Assault Training Summit: As a member of the Thurston County Domestic Violence / Sexual Assault Taskforce, Partners in Prevention Education worked with the Thurston County Prosecutor's Office, Adult Protective Services, Law Enforcement and other local service providers to organize this event. With over 90 local service providers and emergency responders, this event was a huge success! Utilizing video, theater, power point presentations and a town hall discussion, this interactive training  followed one composite family's experience from the initial disclosure of adolescent sexual abuse, the subsequent eruption of domestic violence, and through out their process of accessing services for both the victims and perpetrator. Training evaluations overwhelmingly indicated participants increased their understanding of the various roles of those who respond to incidents of both domestic violence and sexual assault in Thurston County! The town hall and evaluations also indicated a strong desire among service providers to refocus future trainings and public education on the prevention of these forms of violence.
