What makes PiPE unique from other
agencies in Thurston County?
- PiPE provides low-barrier core services and specialized services for
youth and young adults affected by sexual assault, domestic violence
and child abuse.
- PiPE advocates for youth and young adults who may otherwise fall between gaps in services.
- PiPE provides violence prevention education and youth engagement opportunities to marginalized
youth and young adults to address the underlying causes of sexual assault, domestic violence and
child abuse, including sexism, classism, heterosexism, ageism, racism.
- PiPE provides community education on domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and
abandonment to increase community awareness and to mobilize for the prevention of these forms
of violence.
- PiPE provides culturally appropriate services to at-risk and street-dependent youth and young
adults dealing with an array of issues including homophobia, transphobia, mental health, drug
dependency, prostitution, pregnancy and homelessness.
- PiPE works with at-risk, homeless and street-dependent youth and young adults as they transition
through various services (for example aging out of services provided by an agency serving youth
up to the age of 21 and transitioning to services geared to adults).
- PiPE accepts referrals from other community agencies including, (but not limited to) Community
Youth Services, Bread and Roses, Safeplace, Behavioral Health Resources and Stonewall Youth.
Referrals are for clients seeking services such as: crisis support, advocacy and mental health
services for those who have been affected by sexual assault, domestic violence and/or child abuse.
